About Invicta Grammar School

Invicta Grammar School is a grammar school with academy status in Maidstone, Kent. The school caters for girls between the ages of 11 and 18. Some boys are accepted into the sixth form.

The School has previously been known as Maidstone School for Girls (similar to 'MGGS' or Maidstone Grammar school for Girls nearby) and, before that, as Maidstone Technical High School For Girls.

At Invicta, we seek to develop the skills, talents and interests of all our students as individuals. We have high expectations and high aspirations for all and our vision is one of academic excellence in a supportive and caring environment. Our results are outstanding with 71% A*/B grades at A Level and 62% A*/A grades at GCSE making us the best school in Maidstone and the opportunities and care we provide are equally outstanding.

Our primary aim at Invicta is to ensure our girls are happy.  This will enable them to be self-confident, inquiring, tolerant, and positive with well-rounded characters; and have independent minds, which respects the differences of others.  By the time our girls leave Invicta, they will further develop a true sense of self-worth that will enable them to stand up for themselves and for a purpose greater than themselves, and, in doing so, to be of value to society.  Nurturing individuality and yet understanding and appreciating the differences of others is central to Invicta's philosophy.  This is achieved through an extensive system of support, guidance and care.

At Invicta Grammar School we also recognise the importance of excellent academic results. However, we believe that for our girls to be successful and happy in this challenging and competitive world it is also necessary for them to be equipped with more than good results.  Our students need to be creative, to work cooperatively, and to have highly developed personal and social skills.

Invicta Grammar School provides a rich programme of opportunities aimed at giving girls diverse and exciting experiences that enable them to be 'rounded' and enthused about the world they live in.  Confidence, enterprise, creativity and internationalism are developed through projects of leadership, community and enterprise, societies, visits and extended learning.  The importance of participation in these opportunities makes school life about more than examination success; meeting new people, gaining skills, employability, following a passion, discovering a passion and having something to talk about.  Most importantly - we understand that students who take advantage of what is on offer, enjoy their education.  Enjoyment leads to success!
