About Manor Lodge School
Manor Lodge offers children an outstanding and balanced education in a supportive, family atmosphere.
For each child to fulfil their true potential we promote, and highly value, a positive partnership with parents. By working together we can build on a child’s strengths and talents while also encouraging them to work on areas where they feel less comfortable.
The school has a rural setting, close to the M25, occupying over 10 acres. Our central location puts us in easy reach of families living in St Albans, Shenley, Radlett, Potters Bar, Cuffley, Barnet, Mill Hill and Finchley. A grade II listed building is at the centre of the campus with a modern teaching block attached plus a magnificent new building on site hosting a sports hall/theatre, expressive arts and Year 6 teaching rooms.
The education we provide encourages all the children to think for themselves from an early age and to take charge of their learning. We value traditional strengths but encourage modern teaching which embraces thinking skills, problem solving and the ability to apply knowledge.
Knowledge and life skills are acquired through quality teaching, stimulating lessons and exciting opportunities to learn. Children work independently and collaboratively at their own pace with extra support when required. From the very start our aim is to provide children with the skills and understanding they require to cope admirably with the 11+ examinations in Year 6 and to give their parents a genuine choice of schools for the next stage of their education. Local senior schools prize our pupils and describe them as being ‘happy, articulate and enthusiastic without being arrogant.’
