Overview

Hourly Paid Wellbeing & Mental Health Practitioner

Hours: Full time, part time and hourly paid contracts are available

The Role

The purpose of this role is to work under the leadership of the Senior WBMH Practitioner to identify and assess the educational support needs of students with a range of conditions including SEMH difficulties, ASD, ADHD and Acquired brain injury, and to then work with the students, teachers, and Support Assistants to implement appropriate personalised strategies which enable students to access the curriculum and gain qualifications. The post holder will have proven expertise in supporting young people with SEMH and Behavioural difficulties on all levels of courses from Entry level to Level 3.

The post holder will work with individual and small groups of students who have current Education & Health Care Plans to promote well-being strategies via workshop settings and individual tutorials. Students will work towards agreed SMART targets which the post holder will regularly review and update.

The post holder will participate in the annual review process for students who hold Education & Health Care Plans where needed.

Appropriate training will be provided.

The post holder will liaise with Additional Support Assistants as required to inform them of effective in-class strategies.

The post holder may be required to communicate with parents/carers and external agencies when appropriate.
