Teacher of Science
Due to a growing school roll, a fantastic opportunity has arisen to join the dynamic staff team at West Park School in September 2020.
West Park is an 11 – 16 school based in Spondon with 1360 pupils currently on roll. The school prides itself on exceptional pupil achievement, dynamic teaching and learning and excellent behaviour and engagement. We have a committed and talented staff team who work cohesively to get the best for all of our pupils. The pupils themselves are focussed, polite, positive and determined to take full advantage of the range of opportunities provided to them. West Park is rapidly becoming the school of choice for parents in Derby.
We have a vacancy for a full time Science teacher who can inspire our pupils and help them enjoy the subject. It is a vibrant and ambitious department committed to continual professional development, co-operation and sharing excellent practice. We are committed to appointing only the most inspirational teachers. Our teachers routinely deliver great lessons, which are well planned, challenging, innovative and active for our pupils. The successful applicants must be prepared to share their practice with colleagues and fully contribute to our in-house programme of continuing professional development.
Applications are welcome from experienced teachers or NQTs. Visits to the school are encouraged to enable you to savour the unique atmosphere. Please call or email for an appointment.
Further information about the school and the post is available below.

About West Park School
It has been my privilege to lead this remarkable school for twenty one years.
Parents send their children to West Park because they know that they will achieve; teachers want to work at West Park because they can get on and do their job. Pupils are proud to attend West Park because they know that we put them and their achievement first.
The attainment and progress of pupils at West Park is truly outstanding; the really good news is that this is not the whole story.
